IN MEMORIAM: MATT MARGULIS
The Department mourns the passing of Matt Margulis, who died unexpectedly on November 15. A double major in Linguistics and Philosophy, Matt was writing a senior thesis in theoretical and experimental semantics under the direction of Adrian Brasoveanu. Adrian writes, “His infectious enthusiasm, unending energy for learning and talking about new things in semantics and his insightful, goal-driven pursuit of linguistic research inspired many of us.” Matt had presented some of his research last Spring at the Linguistics Undergraduate Research Conference (LURC); some photos of him at LURC can be found on the second half of this page. A campus memorial will be held, probably late in the afternoon of December 1. Matt will be deeply missed by all of us.
