FELLOWSHIPS AND GRANTS GALORE
The close of the school year and the start of summer has brought many exciting grants and fellowships to students and faculty in our department:
- Kelsey Sasaki received a Social Science Research Council Dissertation Proposal Development fellowship
- Maziar Toosarvandani & Matt Wagers received a UCSC Committee on Research and Vice Chancellor for Research Collaborative Research Grant for “Universal language processing principles in Santiago Laxopa Zapotec”
- Pranav Anand and Maziar Toosarvandani received a UCHRI, an Engaging Humanities grant for “Tools for linguistic self-discovery: Empowering California’s Oaxacan communities”
- IHR Research Cluster Grant: “Syntax-Prosody in Optimality Theory” to Junko Ito,
Armin Mester, Jim McCloskey,
Maziar Toosarvandani, and graduate students Jenny Bellik and Nick Kalivoda - Jason Ostrove and Andrew Hedding are both IHR Public Fellows
- Jenny Bellik and Deniz Rudin both received IHR Summer Dissertation Fellowships
