HANKAMER COLLOQUIUM ON FRIDAY

This Friday, Jorge Hankamer will give a colloquium talk titled, “CP complements to D.” The talk will take place on Friday, November 15th, from 1:20-3:00 PM in Humanities 1, Room 210. It will be followed by a short reception with light refreshments in the same room. We’re excited to hear from Jorge after the power outages prevented the event from proceeding as originally scheduled in October!

AN INVITATION FROM NIDO DE LENGUAS

This Saturday, November 16, Nido de Lenguas, a partnership between UCSC Linguistics and Senderos, will host a day of fun-filled language learning and community building at the Watsonville Public Library from 1:00-3:30 PM. Participants will learn about San Martín Peras Mixtec, a language of Oaxaca that is also widely spoken in Santa Cruz County. The event is free and open to the public, and you can let the organizers know you’re coming here. A flyer for general distribution is also available, here.
