MATT TUCKER IN ARIZONA

This past weekend, Matt Tucker visited the University of Arizona in Tucson where he delivered a paper entitled “Verb-stranding verb-phrase ellipsis in Egyptian Arabic: Investigating clausal architecture” at the 25th Annual Arabic Linguistics Symposium. He writes:

My trip to Arizona went very well! The ALS was larger this year than it has ever been in the history of the conference (thirty-three papers in all), and the discussion was both lively and entertaining. In addition to giving my paper and getting great feedback, I also got a chance to spend some time with Ph.D. alumni Adam Ussishkin and Andy Wedel, who both send everyone at UCSC their love. All in all, the trip was very productive, and I hope to return to both Arizona and the ALS in the future.
