LIPWednesday, 12:00-1:00 PM, LCR: Netta Ben-Meir will lead a discussion of van Donselaar, Kuijpers, and Cutler (1999): “Facilitatory effects of vowel epenthesis on word processing in Dutch.”

SPLAPWednesday, 3:00-4:00 PM, LCR: Jack Duff will lead discussion of Levinson’s chapter entitled “Deixis” in The Handbook of Pragmatics (2003).

S-Circle and WLMA will not be meeting this week due to this week’s colloquiumLaLoCo is on an off-week and will meet during the week of October 15-19.

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE CLUB ON CAMPUS

A brand-new club called the Santa Cruz Artificial Intelligence Club has been formed on campus. As a parallel entity to the Santa Cruz Machine Learning group, it will meet every other week on Wednesdays. In addition, the club will organize workshops to bring undergraduate and graduate students from any department up to speed on current AI techniques.
