SCOTT IN WLMA
This week in WLMA, Tessa Scott (UC at Berkeley) will give a talk titled “Variation in Mam syntax”. The presentation will take place this Tuesday (12/8) at 12:00 pm in this Zoom room.
SUMSC

EISCHENS IN PHLUNCH
For the Phlunch meeting this week (1 pm, Thursday, 12/9), Ben Eischens will present Reinisch et al. (2011), “Speaking rate affects the perception of duration as a suprasegmental lexical-stress cue. WAGERS ELECTED 2020 AAAS FELLOW
Matthew Wagers has been awarded the distinction of AAAS Fellow by the American Association for the Advancement of Science. He was recognized “for innovative research extending the methodology of experimental psycholinguistics to investigations of understudied minority languages.” Congratulations, Matt!

SASAKI IN THE NEWS
The Humanities Institute interviewed Kelsey Sasaki about her research and experience as a THI Public Fellow. They discussed the ways in which Sasaki’s own work and research have interfaced with her role in supporting the sharing and celebration of the indigenous languages of Oaxaca with the greater Santa Cruz community.
