This week (Wednesday, 06/09, at 10 am, Zoom link), Ora Matushansky (CNRS) gave a talk on Russian stress.
Ksenia Ershova (Stanford) will give a talk titled “What a polysynthetic language can tell us about wh-movement and Phase Theory: Possessor extraction in West Circassian” on Friday, June 4th, 10:00 am-11:30 am.
The volume on Parameters of Predicate Fronting, co-edited by Vera Lee-Schoenfeld (2005 alumna, U of Georgia) and Dennis Ott (U of Ottawa) is going to be published as part of the Oxford Studies in Comparative Syntax series on June 11. It also includes a chapter titled Verb Phrase I-topics in German, co-authored by Anya Hogoboom (2006 alumna, College of William & Mary) and Vera Lee-Schoenfeld.

The Linguistics Department’s annual Linguistics Undergraduate Research Conference (LURC) will be held Friday, May 28, from 1:20 – 5:00pm via Zoom. The Distinguished Alumna speaker will be Chloe Willis, currently a PhD student at UC Santa Barbara.
